I was raised on a farm between Neustadt and Hanover, Ontario, Canada. I learned to drive at age 9 and learned to work with my hands and take things apart as was curious how things worked. I excelled in Athletics, Track & Field, Swimming, Biking, Roller skating, mechanics & electronics. To this day I still swim, bike, run and have passed many levels in figure skating and many metals and ribbons in running and triathlon completions.
After High School, I attended DeVry Institute of Technology (now DeVry University) for their Electronics Engineering Technologist Program in Toronto, Ontario on a Full Tuition Scholarship. This Scholarship also covered the tuition to obtain my Bsc. in EET in DeVry Los Angeles, CA which I attended from 1991 to 1992.
After graduating from DeVry Los Angeles, I returned home at the beginning of the first recession and found work at a large firm called Coopers and Lybrand(now Price Waterhouse Coopers) as a Junior Technician doing computer integration and software installation.
When my contract was completed here, I moved to London, Ontario and did various jobs. Then decided to move back to Toronto and use my current computer background with a Hospitality company called M.I.T.S Hospitality where I was a field technician supporting and servicing electronic Point of Sale Terminals (POS) and screens.
After the company downsized, I obtained a position at A.T.E Fixturing & design as a Mechanical/Electrical Fixture technician which not only I worked in house wiring and testing these fixtures, but I also went out in the field and serviced these products. Working at A.T.E. I obtained a certificate on Quality Assurance on ISO9000 Awareness.
While working at A.T.E I was a member at the local YMCA of Scarborough, Ontario where I volunteered in the conditioning room as well as obtained my CPR and First Aid, Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross & Senior Resuscitation for Life-guarding.
I left the hustle and bustle of big city life and moved to the Kitchener/Waterloo area where I obtained a entry position as an Electronic Assembler with Research In Motion (now Blackberry). While employed at RIM, I received two promotions, one to level 2 assembler and the last to Electronic Technician where I inspected and repaired electronic radio boards for their first generation Interactive 2-way pagers. I applied to a internal position of “Interactive Two-way Pager guru” and wanted to work in their marketing and sales department. After further attempts to obtain this position, I found myself at a cross roads as I didn’t want to work in manufacturing and moved on back to the London area.
I then obtained a Position with Sterling Trucks and the ‘Turn and Cell’ line, inspecting trucks for missing components, repaired non-functional units on the trucks as well as “Full Dyno” tested on the trucks. This allowed me to get enough experience to obtain my position with ESP Canada.
At Environmental Systems Products(ESP) Canada, I was a field Sales & Support Representative within the Ontario Drive Clean Program I was responsible for the commissioning of E-test Equipment, sales and post support. The company closed and I took a year off in 2013 and did some travelling.
I currently work from home as a remote worker for Distributel Communications as a Bundle specialist support issues with Internet, Phone and TV services. I like working from home as it is quite a bit different from my last position from all the travelling I did. I am looking forward to many great opportunities available in the ONLINE WORLD!
